Before I replaced the battery I could not use Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth AND use the Eris as a telephone. The battery would not last all day. What is the point in having an Android phone with all it’s capabilities if it is gimped by an ultra-short battery life? This battery has really opened up the capabilities of my HTC Eris. Instead of my battery lasting one day as a telephone only, I now can utilize the GPS and other features that I used to keep turned off. I can now get two days out of the battery, and that is with moderate use.
The weak point is the back. As many have pointed out, this battery and back make the phone almost twice as thick and there is no lens cover for the camera in the Seido back. But the back also feels much more cheaply constructed. When I handle the phone it makes creaking noises and sometimes tries to pop off when I am pulling it out of my shirt pocket. The rubberized back tends to cling to some fabrics, so the mere act of pulling the phone out of a pocket can make it come loose. Also, I have not found any silicone cases that will fit my phone. It would be nice if Seido would improve the back and/or offer a silicone case similar to the Otter Box case.
Was this worth the price and hassle? Yes, I think it was. But whenever I know that I am not going to be taxing my phone I put the original back and battery on the phone. But most of the time I have the Seido battery and back on the phone.

I chose to buy this dock because I needed one that could charge a spare battery while charging my phone. This dock does exactly that! However, if you have a case on your Droid Eris, it will NOT fit this dock. Also, there’s a blue light that lights up whenever it’s connected to a wall outlet and a light that blinks red & green for the spare battery part. These are highly annoying as they’re always on when it’s plugged in (whether the phone & spare battery are in there or not)….so I covered them with black electric tape and my problem was solved.

Go to the Verizon store and you’ll find a nice leather case for your D’inc for or more. I paid about for this one and got a GREAT case. The phone fits comfortably, is easy to slide in and out and is well protected. It has a marvelously simple and effective magnetic closure and both belt clip and LOOPS (other cases used to slide off my belt at work). I’ll probably forego the larger battery/back so I don’t have to give up my case.
